Chapter 6 - The Bloodline

The heavy silence in the study was far more terrifying than any threat.

"You kidnapped my daughter," Damian stated, his tone devoid of all human emotion. "You brought her into my home, intending to use her life as a bargaining chip to steal my empire."

"It's just business, brother!" Victor argued, taking a tiny step away from the wall. "You've gone soft! You're hiding families in the suburbs while our rivals get stronger! I deserve to run those ports! Sign the papers, and I walk out of here. The kid stays with you."

Damian slowly stood up. He buttoned his dark suit jacket, radiating an overwhelming, lethal aura that seemed to suck all the oxygen out of the room.

He walked around the massive oak desk.

"You always were an idiot, Victor," Damian said softly, stopping just a few feet away from Sophia and the dog. "You bought Bruno from a fighting ring. You beat him to make him mean. But you never understood how a Cane Corso's instincts actually work."

Victor frowned, his chest heaving with nervous breaths. "What are you talking about?"

"They don't respect fear. They don't respect violence," Damian explained, looking down at his daughter with a flicker of fierce, protective pride. "They protect their pack. They protect their bloodline. Bruno didn't submit to her because she's a child. He submitted to her because he smells my blood running through her veins."

👉 Victor realized his ultimate weapon had recognized the true heir, and his resulting panic was about to trigger his downfall.
