Chapter 32 - the midnight breach

Sophia was reviewing financial documents in the cedar wood-paneled study when the red emergency lights pulsed through the room. Titan immediately stood up, his massive frame tensing as a vibrating growl rumbled deep in his chest.

She didn't panic. She inherited her father's absolute, terrifying composure. She calmly opened the hidden compartment beneath her desk and withdrew a sleek, matte-black handgun, smoothly racking the slide with practiced precision.

Marcus, the aging but fiercely loyal captain of the guard, burst into the study. "Miss Sophia, we have a massive breach at the outer perimeter. Heavily armed mercenaries using thermal cloaking. They bypassed the first checkpoints."

"Where is my father?" Sophia asked, her voice dangerously quiet and commanding.

"He was in the greenhouse," Marcus replied, his face pale with sudden dread. "We lost communications with his detail three minutes ago."
