Chapter 116 - the deadly countdown
The armored SUV tore through the heavy iron gates of the countryside estate. Noah Carter was already in the front courtyard, having neutralized three elite mercenaries who had attempted to breach the main perimeter.
"They hacked the bunker's air filtration system!" Michael Jr. shouted frantically as he leaped from the vehicle. "They are pumping neuro-gas inside!"
They sprinted down into the subterranean levels. The heavy, blast-proof steel door of the safe room was digitally locked down by Specter's remote virus, trapping Chloe and Lily inside while the deadly gas slowly filled the room.
Noah didn't hesitate. He pulled out a heavy thermite breaching charge, the exact same explosive his father had used decades ago. He slapped it onto the digital locking mechanism of the massive door.
"Stand back!" Noah ordered, triggering the detonator.
A blinding white flash and intense heat melted the locking bolts entirely. Michael Jr. threw his entire body weight against the heavy steel door, violently shoving it open.
