Chapter 33 - the king's bloodline

Noah immediately drove back to the peaceful suburban farm where Michael and Emily were enjoying their old age. He didn't want to hide this threat from his parents. After hearing the story, Emily anxiously held her husband's hand tightly.

Though his hair had turned completely white, Michael Carter's eyes remained as sharp as an untarnished sword. He lightly tapped his scarred fingers on the wooden table, a cold smile flashing across his lips.

"Sometimes, light is not enough to dispel the darkness, my son," Michael said in a deep, husky voice full of authority. "To defeat monsters, you must know how to use the devil's weapons."

Michael stood up, leading Noah down into the secret basement beneath the farm. He opened an old safe, taking out a jet-black key and an offline memory card encrypted with military-grade security.

"This is the black box of the underworld, the thing I kept as an ultimate trump card," Michael handed it to Noah. "It contains all the evidence of corruption and money laundering of the conglomerates backing Victor."
