Chapter 27 - the transfer of power
Michael convened a closed-door meeting with all the high-ranking leaders of the syndicate. A silent and solemn atmosphere enveloped the boardroom. They knew that whenever the boss made a formal appearance, an earth-shattering event would occur.
"Over the past fifteen years, we have transformed an underground empire into a powerful legitimate conglomerate," Michael declared resoundingly. "And today, I have decided to officially step down from all executive operations."
The entire room buzzed with astonishment. No one expected the uncrowned king to decide to surrender his absolute power while still at the pinnacle of his glory. Marcus, his loyal right-hand man, stepped forward.
"Boss, do you really want to give up everything? Who will lead us?" Marcus asked with anxiety and reverence.
"I am not giving it up; I am transferring it to a new generation," Michael smiled. He turned to look at Noah, who was standing firmly by his side. "Noah will begin training as my successor, and Marcus will serve as the regent."
