Chapter 18 - the confession under the stars

That evening, to celebrate their legal victory, Michael organized a romantic dinner exclusively for the two of them on the rooftop of Boston's tallest building. The space was decorated with flickering candlelight and white roses.
Emily wore an elegant jade evening gown, accentuating her arrogant and radiant beauty. Michael wore a flawless black tuxedo, his eyes never leaving the woman who had completely altered his world.
They enjoyed wine together, gazing at the city sparkling under the lights. Michael gently set his wine glass down, taking Emily's hand. His hands were covered in scars, yet incredibly warm and steady.
"From the day you walked into that room and snatched Noah's life back, you didn't just revive him, you revived the human part of me," Michael confessed, his deep, warm voice containing the deepest sincerity.
"Will you agree to stay by my side, not as a doctor, but as the most perfect piece of my life?" The unexpected confession made Emily's heart skip a beat; tears of happiness rolled down her cheeks.
