Chapter 55 - the phantom's return

"Secure the perimeter!" Julian Vance screamed into the pitch-black vault, his voice cracking with sudden panic as his elite guards scrambled blindly in the darkness.

A red emergency flare hissed to life, casting an eerie, demonic glow across the steel walls. Standing perfectly still in the center of the vault was Noah Carter. He didn't look like a philanthropic CEO; he looked like a grim reaper.

"You stole the cure for the very neurotoxin that nearly killed me as an infant," Noah said, his voice echoing off the steel walls with terrifying, quiet authority. "Did you really think my family would just let you walk away?"

Julian stumbled backward, horrified. "You're trespassing on sovereign corporate property! My men will kill you!"

"Your men are currently locked in the outer corridor," Michael Jr. said, stepping out of the shadows and securing the cryogenic case containing the stolen antibodies. "The security mainframe is entirely under our control."
