Chapter 15 - the angel in white
A few weeks later, Emily was officially appointed as the director of the private medical center affiliated with the Carter Corporation. From a maid forced to hide in fear, she had now regained her rightful status and honor.
She was provided with the most state-of-the-art laboratory to research new medications. Michael never interfered with her professional expertise. He only provided unlimited financial resources to support her projects.
What made Emily happiest was that she was still allowed to personally care for little Noah's health. The boy was growing increasingly chubby, adorable, and particularly attached to the woman who had saved his life from the brink of death.
One weekend afternoon, Michael was sitting in the garden reading documents when he saw Emily carrying Noah for a walk. The brilliant golden sunlight shone on her delicate face, creating a flawless and incredibly peaceful picture.
The little boy happily reached his arms out asking his dad to hold him. Michael laughed, taking his son, while his eyes inadvertently met Emily's gentle gaze. A strange, warm, and sweet flutter spread through his chest.
